Summer Island sits on Ziyaaraifushi in the North Malé Atoll, a Kaimoo property since 1996 and fully reimagined in 2015 as a contemporary, sustainability-led retreat. The architecture is barefoot and pared-back; the eco programme is real — coral propagation, glass water bottled on the island, plastic kept off the dining line. It is mid-market rather than luxury, and it does not pretend otherwise — the value proposition is the draw, and the over-water villas come in at a price point unusual for North Malé. A useful pick for first-time Maldives visitors who want the over-water experience without the upper-tier outlay.
