The retreat, in full
Niyama is unusual: two islands, side by side, joined by an overwater boardwalk. One island holds the family-and-couples register (Chill), the other holds the bar, the surf break at Vodi, and the livelier evenings (Play). Most guests cross between the two through the day. The kitchen list runs deep, the rooms are larger than most, and the cadence is younger and more open than its peers. A long refurbishment carried through 2025 — colours of sunset, expanded living, the whole retreat reset.
Arrival. 45-minute seaplane from Velana International. We time the transfer to your flight, and confirm it in writing with the rest of the stay.
Worth knowing
- The boardwalk between the two islands stays open all day — most guests breakfast on Chill and have a sundowner on Play.
- The Vodi surf break runs off Play island from May to October — the only luxury retreat in the country with a wave breaking right on shore.
- The 2025 refurbishment reset colours, finishes and tech across the villas — the Crescent (a six-bedroom estate) sits apart, reached by private boardwalk or speedboat.
